Default Project B20 Build

Hey all, I'm gonna put a start to this thread as today was my first proper day attacking this build by stripping the engine. I came up with the idea about two months ago after a talk with C-Rex about possible engine swaps, settled on this one as it seemed to be the most straight forward (I'm guaranteed to eat my words after that statement[:I])

Bought a B20z1 engine last week by pure accident after weeks looking, Paul found it for me and for only 200euro as it was meant to be water damaged but after taking it apart we found there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, What a bargain, Cheers Paul[^]

The planned spec is:

B20z1 Bottom end with stock B20 pistons.
Ctr head(with a slight head skim) and Ctr cams.
B16 inlet manifold and throttle body.
NGK plug leads.
My own 4 branch.
Still deciding on a lightened flywheel and a new clutch.
YS1 gearbox (getting it reconditioned).
Apexi Power FC ECU
B18 Cambelt.
B16 Oil pump.
B16 Bottom Pully.
Fuel pressure Regulator + Gauge.
Still deciding on Brakes(will be badly needed)[8)]

This is the B20 on its way down from Dublin and also Paul's 210 brake B16a all in the back of the trusty Focus which without, none of this would be possible

Started stripping the engine this morning to see if the water damage had caused any problems, which it hadn't[^].

Paul kindly gave me a hand to take off the flywheel but got his finger caught when it slipped, he is missing his nail at the moment and here is the picture:

Fairly sore looking, sorry Paul[:I]

I will keep ye updated on this as I go on, will more than likely have alot of problems[V]

Well done Lad. You about Monday - might give you a shout.

I won't have the Rex though - matching the paint seems to be a prob

Jammy feck 200 for a b20z. best of luck with the build. I must throw up a picture of my "modified" flywheel locking tool it might save someones fingers in the future. I got a peogeot one & attached it with a grinder to make it into a Honda one. (best thing that can be done to anything for a Peugeot lol)

Cool, I'll call to you Monday so.

The car was resprayed previously and the Tit that mixed the paint mixed it wrong and it's more of a dull Grey now rather than Pewter Grey.

Anywho, got the Wings resprayed and they're a different colour!

The sprayer had to go into town today to get an Oil based paint instead of a water based one as the modern paint won't flash well enough!

So more money and still waiting for the car - Tax and Insurance is paid and I'm not even driving it!

Rant over [8)]

Jammy aint even the word for it, pure and utter luck I know of a place with 2 more but he is askina nice bit of money for em!

That flywheel tool is a fair good idea, I should have put this thread up earlier, C-Rex's finger might still be intact[8]

Thats the prop with B20s the word has got out so the prices are only going to go upwards. Yeah I was looking for a Honda one in the motor factors they didnt have one so I got a Peugeot one for €14 ground off a few teeth an it worked like a dream.
