4-1 give more top end but doesnt help power low down at all.
A 4-2-1 would be my preffered option on a road car as it shows gains thoughout the powerband but you wont see as high a peak gain. If you have an all out drag car,high lift race cams etc etc then go 4-1 as it is suited to what you are after. If your running b16b cams and a daily drive for example id go with a 4-2-1. At the end of the day when you pull away from the lights, a bit of torque and lower down bhp gains will help more than any amount at peak.
