Default reverse lamp switch

anyone ever have any problems with this.im blowing the 10amp fuse everytime i engage reverse.think the swith on the gearbox is the problem.happened there after it rained fairly heavy

Check if there is water getting into the light housing - if it happens when it rains, then that would be the likely place to start looking. You might need to change the gaskets in the diagram on the right in that pic.

should have mentioned i already checked that.i unpluged all the connections to the rear lights and engaged reverse and its still blew the 10amp fuse.should have mentioned it,i actualy stripped the interior and cleaned out the sunroof drain tubes and the nozzle,then i siliconed the gasket around the right cluster which had been leaking and fixed the problem there! will get at it with the continuity tester tommorow and check all the earths then!

I was cleaning out the 16v for the nct and the was a heap of 10 amp fuses in the glove box, previous owner must have had the same trouble.

Doesnt seem to be doing it now so dunno what was causing it. I did fix the leaky rear lights before driving it though so could have been that.

As a matter of interest, is it easy to get replacement gaskets? I'm not sure what state mine are in but the goldfish in my rear lights are starting to look far too comfortable.

yeah - I got a set from mr Honda a couple of years ago for the 1.5x I think they were about 15 quid at the time.

i read up on this on crxuk and someone managed to find a suitable material and just cut out a set of gaskets! anyway since my diy silicone repair my nasty leak has stopped!

update :
i was correct , the lamp switch was banjaxed! , i managed to get one from an integra and it was a simple job . cheers to daragh for the help and the offer of a switch
