Friend's 16V for sale
After fourteen years of ownership, my mate has decided the time has come to sell his 16V. Some of you may have seen it at one of the Phoenix Park meets a few years ago. It's a well looked-after example but it's at the stage where it needs some money put into it which he can't justify, so he's letting it go.
The good: 1990 1.6-16 (Irish car, two owners from new) 113K miles NCT to Sept. 2012 Full Honda (Clonskeagh Motors) service history Carbon fibre sunroof (from 12Tune) 15" OZ Polaris rims Removeable steering wheel. Back box (standard) just replaced Huuuuuuge rear spoiler!!  The bad: Sunroof tray rotten causing a leak on to the seatbelts Bodywork needs attention as evidence of rust is appearing and lacquer is peeling in places Asking price: €1500 (is this about right?) Like I say, it has been well cared for down the years, but the bodywork needs attention now to bring it back up to scratch, and he can't justify spending the money on it as it isn't used very much any more. He would like it to go to an enthusiast rather than someone who will ruin it, which is why it's going here first before the Donedeal/Buy&Sell route.

Is that on an original brown tax book Paul?
Did he do the spoiler, vtec rear light and other bits? How bad are the arches sills and sunroof? Really like that CRX but already have 3rusty Hondas and a stupid Nissan Silvia

As far as I know it is a brown tax book, Paul, yep. He bought the spoiler and got it fitted a long time ago. I think it always had VTEC rear lights, I don't remember them being changed (unless I gave him the lights from my dual-carb when I wrote it off!)
The arches are pretty OK, I've only had a quick look recently but there's no rust coming through the paint around them. Sunroof is fine (CF replacement) but the tray is pretty rotten by all accounts. There's a couple of rust spots at the bottom of the rear window and some of the lacquer on the roof has peeled, but it's not a rustbucket by any stretch.

I'd say its an English import judging by the reg no. They had low registration numbers in 1990. My old 16v crx was 5025.
Seen this about 6 months ago when Paul had it for a loan and its a nice honest crx. Hope it goes to a good home!

Not an import, Stan, I'm positive about that. The previous owner is the wife of a former Attorney General who bought it new.
Think number plates in Dublin went to just over 50,000 for 1990.

Well, it ended up on Donedeal and was sold within a week. Gone to a new home in Ballina or thereabouts. Hopefully the new owner might make an appearance on here at some stage.
