Default High idle when warm

Hey lads, hope someone is still around these parts (the lights were on so I decided to stroll in)! Having an issue with high idle on the siR, when the car is warm it's idling at 1200-1500 rpm. If I leave it late to press the clutch when stopping, so that the revs drop below this level, the idle will hold at the lower rate, but the norm is slightly above what it should as mentioned above. There's no hunting going on, just slightly idling. It does seem to be slightly high on cold startup, too, but still under 2000RPM. The engine then appears to heat up normally. Any advice welcome.

You can adjust the throttle cable to knock back the idle a bit

Could be a sticky cable?
Or possibly an IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) it's on the back of it intake manifold these are known to be a bit troublesome but usually cause hunting issues still worth a clean out though to rule it out.

Are you still using your siR regularly?

Hello

Thanks Paul, I realised I was a bit low on coolant so I've topped it up, have had similar issues in the past. It's a bit worrying that the coolant is dropping, can't see a an obvious leak and the oil looks OK. Still driving the car to work one day a week or so, just to keep it ticking over.

Spray some carb cleaner in the trottle body? Could be dirt in there.

Just to update in case anyone is still alive out there, the garage eventually diagnosed a leak in the rad so I've had to order a replacement from Tegiwa, which AFAIK is the only real option left as replacement.

Did that stop the high idle issue?
