Sorry for bringing this thread back... But I'm new here and don't know how you guys operate...

I'm just curious how hard it was to get the H22 in your rex... I am currently building a turbo H22 to put in an Accord but may end up putting it in a crx instead... I've done a little reading so far and read that you have to dent the rear crossmember to make room for the transmission filling plug... Did you run into that? Thanks...

Kenny

I ran into allot of problems ... and I still am !! space is very tight every where with N/A so I think turbo would be even more tricky... I plan on turboing mine some time in the future ... u will have to dent the fire wall as well to clear the throttle position sensor ... I would recommend doing a full engine bay tuck as well ... it is definitely well worth doing though the power to weight ratio makes it very impressive performance wise

I am getting motor mounts from Explicitspeedperformance.com... With their mounts there is no need to dent the firewall... And with mounts like Hasport we (here in the U.S.) have to get the JDM hood with the raised center... But with ESP's mounts there is no need for that either... Did you have problems with the transmission fitting? Like I said my previous post, I have heard that you have to dent the crossmember and other people say you don't... Just curious... Thanks

If you dont need to use a raised bonnet with them mounts surely your engine will sit lower.. Therefore sitting the sump closer to the road..
Is that not a worse idea??

my mounts are ESP and they didnt fit and actually they werent even close and i still had to modify the fire wall and my "HOOD" wouldntnt have closed if it wasnt a "JDM" hood and the sump is the lowest part by far ... the only good thing ESP sent was the traction bar which u will also need cause the oem front close member wont fit ... the chasis rail on "our" driver side has to be dented a bit to fit the gearbox so does the rear cross member but not much... if i was you i would go with HAsport mounts they are more expenxive but are much better made and look better ... but as i said before its alot of work but well worth it

Wow... I've never heard any problems with the ESP mounts like that... Thanks for the heads up... I'll def look into the Hasport mounts... I was planning on getting ESP's entire strut bar set and traction bar... I know a couple guys who have the traction bar and love it... Again my friend, thanks for the info on the swap... I'll probably be in contact with you later for more info... Thanks..

If the car had a b16 lump in from factory those mounts were never going to work, if it had a dseries lump in they would. Yanks never got stock b series in the crx so all mount kits from there are designed for dseries chassis.

Any chance I could spin round for a look at this next time im home? Most likely this weekend id say?
