Finally got this yoke back after 2 months, engine fully rebuit. Waitin to break it in now before i bring it for a right spin. Anyone got a close up pic of the intake manifold and the pipes that are coming off it and where they go. When i got the car back the main breather off the intake was blocked off withe a pipe and bolt and it wasn't like this before the lads were at it, id like to know where its supposed to go. Also when the car warms up to norml operating temp the idle starts to hunt up and down as if it were low in coolant, what would cause this?

Idle control valve is a very common problem

And is that pipe to the front of the inlet pipe? Could have been going to the breather off the rocker cover which wont cause any problem blocked up on the intake side

Hunting because of that pipe your talking about. Get it inserted into the right place and that will fix it.
I remember selling an ee8 4 yrs ago and these two scumbags came to view it and when i was'nt looking one of them pulled that pipe off. then offered me half the asking price, I told em where to go!!

I'll see if I can get a pic for ya!

Is there a pipe going to the brake servo from the intake.
Have you one going from the cam cover to the intake.
Check to see if there are any vacuum leaks in the hoses. This will cause the hunting your talking about.

the pipe is on the front of the manifold yes, not too sure about a pipe goin to the booster ill check tomoro. They also left a pipe coming up through the runners of the intake manifold, looks like another breather pipe its connected onto somethin to the left of the oil filter but then goes nowhere. As regards the bodywork i haven t done any yet but i wil take pics when i get to it, hope to start in the next few weeks. Would have had it wel shook over the christmas if the mechanics had pulled the finger out an actually got the car done when they were supposed to! Pc is fecked so i wont be able to put up pics for a few days
