Bit of an update on the gun metal grey crx.
It's my girlfriends and was Si. Working on 1992 plus Honda's is a piece of cake lads. Efs or pre 92 are a different story entirely.
I've made my own custom mounts, made up a hydro conversion.
Experimenting with more wire tucking, but these cars need so much more than wires hidden.

Engine is B16a (94sir) with a Ctr head (milled) and cams, Itr intake to be mapped on obd0.
All mated to a stock S4c. Looking forward to see the 4.4 work on a crx, with slicks, from usual 4.266

Got the engine started up lastnight, so all wiring complete. Should have it finished during the week.

I knew this was ahead of me, that I'd have a problem with the gear linkage. I needed a vtec gear linkage out of an Ef, but sourcing these is difficult.

I decided that it looked easy enough to modify the eg6 linkage. Twas 3 3/4" inches longer.
So I started cutting.

Nearly drove it this evening, but I didn't want to rush the last few bits, like double checking everything.

I always wondered about engine conversions. Do you have to your insurance company about the modified engine mounts and gear linkages and if so will it add much onto the price of your insurance? Nice job by the way!

I was thinking if you ever brought this toa Honda garage to have it serviced they'd be WELL confused with all the custom work!!

More pictures required!! Great work though.

The car will be insured as a vtec.
I dont see why a car that has never been crashed would cost more to insure, than a car that was in an accident, wrote off, and repaired.

Imo, ya never know how well your insured till ya have an accident.

I've about 20 miles driven in it now. It's going well.

Made a minor adjustment to the clutch pedal and its like a stock modern car now.
Also fitted a prelude 2.2 vtec friction plate to the clutch, and noticeable extra grip in it.

I'll get more pics later.

Waiting on my cold air feed and uprating the brakes also.

Sweet as. Yeah, I agree with the Insurance issue. I know I always give Quinn a hard time and rightly so... You thinkn you've insurance and then you'd a tip and they question EVERY mod you have, even though you declared them ALL.

You really never know for sure,
