Do you know how many you had in before they came out? If you did, you could make up enough to match the thickness and put holes in them and slide up along rather the the U section so they cant "pop" out again. A bit more effort to set up but at least you can have some confidence in them not coming off.

I like johns idea. Drill holes instead of slotting them. No way they can pop off then unless the whole ball joint comes off 1st

Yea Ill be going for drilled plates next time at the minute the other side is taped up and cable ties around so cant pop out of it..
Heres how the engine bay was looking added the Buddy Club condensor its basically a fancy earthing kit, this is what got the car going with the earthing problem: Was only together a few weeks and had to go stripping again! Needed to strip down the timing belt to change the bottom pully to allow the fitting of the washer properly on the crank: Here was the damaged caused to the crank with having just one of them washers missing! Also needed to fit the back cover for the timing belt for some reason yer man didnt have this on the engine whan I got it! New rubber seal on it too so hopefully keeps stuff from dropping into the timing belt Had this from the 2minutes of snow we had a few weeks ago thought it look well Going fitting the seals tomorrow and a thermal intake gasket and should be ready for mapping again this friday on the dyno again

Havent updated this in ages, was getting the car ready for a track day a weeks after the mapping... Fitted the vtec solenoid seals, thermal intake gasket and rocker cover seals...
Made up an ugly but functional airbox around the airfilter, fitted an oil pressure gauge, carbon wings, bonnet and spoiler and stripped out the interior, Got the car out on track and went great... For 5laps[:I] Done just a bare few warm up laps where the car seemed to pull really well but comming out of a right hand bend the horrible knocking noise started Manages to roll into the pits but the day and engine was done! Bottom end bearing on cylinder 4 had ate itself, cant say I hadnt been expecting it after all the problems I found after the "engine builder" in dublin but was sickened all the same! Heres where it spent the rest of the track day! (The Civic belongs to Stephen K on here) So could have parked it up now for another 5years but decided it needed to get back going straight away cause I plan on being out drag racing with it again in 3weeks time and Trevor who is doing the mapping is going back to like in America so want to get it mapped again before he goes back! Must say thanks to Gary (mcd22) who offered to take the whole car straight away and get it going for me but thought this time I will try to give the heavy work a go myself since he done all the hard work last time should just bolt out and bolt back in this time! Ill update later this evening hopefully alot of work done hope to have the car back going and mapped by the 12th of April

shitety look man. You need a baffled sump and gauges to go out in mondello despite what most people think.
Who built the engine originally? |

That's the thing, he had a baffled sump.
Incorrect bearing gaps, is always the problem. Pity it happened, but @ 9500 everything needs to be perfect. Good luck with it Paul. Don't be afraid to call me if ya have any bother.
