My poor delsol isnt ideling properly, its hunting and dying down almost as if its gonna cut out, but it drives fine otherwise. I finally figured out where the idle air control valve and the fast thermo idle valve is, so i took them off there tonight so ill clean them tomorrow evening.
Im gonna order new o-rings and the litle wire mesh gasket thing for the car too. Heres a couple pics: |

I got it off ebay, £40 and £12 delivery, sure it was a bargain.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-Es350-E...d=p3286.c0.m14 Is it worth buying your own engine crane for using once or twice? Some places hire them out for a day or whatever i think, 20€ would probably hire it. Ill be using a tractor and loader to lift mine, haha |

I hired out an engine crane/hoist there this evening, €20 a day, cant go wrong bt I made a start, have the coolant, oil drained, all the rad and fans, hoses out, aux belts off and p/s pump set aside, etc... Have a lot of the electrical connectors disconnected too. Took out most of the air con stuff too as thats not going back in.
Hope to get the engine out by tomorrow evening, I pray Heres the hoist resting itself Was a grand night so i stayed at it, less to do tomorrow |

The interesting engine work at last Have the engine out, im going to give it a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner and bolts, and plenty of new seals and gaskets. Ill learn how to replace clutches and a bit about gearboxes and driveshafts all at the same time.
First engine i ever removed, im delighted! Cant wait to start tucking into it, ive being wanting to change this timing belt this ages. Tis enjoyable work, when it goes right haha :drink) Was a bit of a struggle but finally got the engine hoisted out thanks to the members on here giving me advice Finally have the engine out and mounted on its stand My garage is slowly filling up, i reckon my parents think im mad at this stage :rlaugh) I believe this is a 96spec Itr clutch/flywheel :hmmm) I'd say it'll be some fun putting all this back together :happy) Think i labaled about 3 electrical connectors (nervous: |
