after i paint the outside ill paint inside the boot floor and the interior..
then prep and paint the bumpers, moldings, side skirts and boot door.
then for the fun part of putting it all back together!

Chris dont worry about that last comment there is going to be nothing left of Steves CRX by time he decides to do something with it!


What paint are you using for the trim pieces?

thanks stephen[^]
i wouldn't mind doing the bodywork on one but not the mechanic side too much time and space needed to do a full strip down!

for the trim just a black base coat with a semi mat lacquer i want to try get as close to the OE look as i can with the trim pieces

got the car painted yesterday delighted with the turnout! a few pics

first up i applied a non sand primer to the rear panel then resealed any were the old sealer had cracked..





next basecoat






then lacquer






after it had baked i painted the tops of the doors black and painted inside boot..







paint baked, car demasked and out of the sprayboot

its hard to see how the color looks in the pics different lighting really changes the look of it..
think it looks class tho very happy with it!

hoping to get the bumpers and trim pieces painted tomorrow preping them all day just to rub the primer tomorrow and paint.

it's only the bodywork and paint i'd want done. replacing rusty arches and sill's like your own.. i'd rather do all the the stripping and re-assembly myself anyway[^]


i can't wait to see your cr-x with the bumpers and black trim back on it!
