James: I have use for two vtec engines so will be selling one on in a few months time.. Will throw it up here or let you know anyway it will be a standard one though..

Squire: No man have all the wiring swapped over now to obd0 now on the engine just getting the harness to fit the ECU to it all now.. And should hopefully run

Ronan: I think it just shot out the exhaust cause there is no sign of damage anywhere on the piston/cylinder or head.. Would make me think again about iridiums[V]

Dohctor: Hmmmmm could be more reliable than the rotary[:I]

The plugs that went on my Mivec were Iridium also.

Well finally went out today and started getting the new engine ready to be swapped in with Jeff..

Since it was coming from an EG civic I knew the distributor and some bits were different but wasnt expecting it to be so much more different..

I changed:
-distributor
-inlet manifold
-thermostat housing
-full loom
-vtec solenoid
-water temperature sensor wiring

Also changed the injectors to way bigger ones
Fitted a set on Nology leads (probably going back to NGKs though)
Sorted out some broken rocker cover bolts

Also for future reference the B16a1 and B16B (Civic Type R engines) run a kind of water operated oil cooling system around the filter housing tapped off the rear water channel on the engine.. B16a2s dont Dont know why really but had myself an d Jeff scratching our heads for a while comparing the 3 engines

Anyway some pics:

Mayhem in the yard today there was one complete engine, 2 engine blocks, 3 inlet manifolds, looms engine heads etc thrown around aswell as cars and bikes to avoid. But was all fun

Old v New injectors

The engine after ages swapping over everything and hopefully having everything right

Its Toda Belt and cam gears

And the CRX today modeling Jeffs new/ Marks old mugen bumper

Parts list has grown since too:
Carbon/Kevlar J's Induction Kit
Koyo Rad
Defi Tacho
Spoon Carbon Mirrors
New wind deflectors (everyone has em these days)

Will get pics of parts soon

feck me that's a tidy bit of work in a day Lads. We seriosuly have to meet up and have a natter about the CR-Xs. There's a nice bit of swappin and switchin in the Engine wasn't there?

More than I thought tbh.
