Out chattin to the mechanic earlier, he has pulled the car into the garage yet but in his own words it could be "critical" maybe big end or main bearins. If they were rattled and ya clutched it why would she conk? Its pretty bafflin to me. Back drivin the Kp now

Not so bad so. Are you just going to get another bottom end if it is something major

Story is now the bearing furthest away from the oil pump was non existent, would that be no1? Engine is full of swarf and fooked. Mechanics claim the oil pump must have shite itself and she dropped pressure. I asked is there anyway to check to make sure and was told no cos its full of swarf/filings now anyway. Think my handiest option now is to just buy an engine and put it in. Sickened is putting it mildly. Have to wait for the funds to accumulate now before i can get an engine.

A rebuilt engine should not fail. They should stand by that engine for you.
I may have warned ya already, earlier in this thread.
I've no respect for BMW. There cocky little mechanics, and highly unreliable machines. I've have more confidence in a lada garage rebuilding an engine.

I hope they cover your cost and it works out for ya. I have a bottom end of a B16, but needs a head fitted.
I'll assemble it if your interested.
