I got mine in a scrap yard for a tenner each (they were 27 each from the motor factors)years ago. Still a scandalous price but it was my only other option at the time. I had to buy 2 as the previous owner stuck H4's in which didn't pass the NCT. They are still working several years on... I hope you haven't jinxed me

Its a gamble getting second hand but I wasn't going buying 2 together at the time. You maybe able to get them at cost from the motor factors.

I don't have any online recommendations I'm afraid.

I dont think Ive ever actually bought a set Ive usually had them in spare lights and stuff.

Ive a hid set there if your interested Gary but they are terrible quality light from them
If your stuck I can send you up a normal h4h bulb I bought a box of bits and there is a brand new one in it still boxed

You can modify a h4 to fit too if your feeling a bit diy there is a few guides on how to do it

Well, I've noticed that they have a brilliant life time. I've never bought new either. Only had 2nd hand ones.
I often wondered about modifying them Paul to fit h4 but I wonder if the angle of the beam will be correct?

I might throw up a wanted thread on HH and see if there is any around handy and let you know..

Jap EFs, EGs and DAs should have them.. There is a few ways to modify H4s Gary some a bit more involved than others I just never bothered casue I was never too stuck, there might be focus problems but could probably adjust the modified bulb mounting a bit more to suit.

I found the HIDs more finicky than unreliable but the light quality was terrible.. There was a blast of light out of them that didnt seem too focused and had no real distance either it was just a blob of light..

Heres a comparison in the del sol

Normal on the left and HID on the right there was horrible glare off them

You could take UK glass lense lights they are normal H4 or if you want to keep them plastic lense split the housing and mount the plastic lense onto the H4 base

I had 100w halogen lying around so I dismantled them. She's thrilled with the light.
