I fairness Paul, the first time I sat in a US CRX and tried to start it I was stumped too.
You have to press the clutch and then turn the key!! They also have annoying seatbelt lights...that dont work any more....maybe thats just me though.

Do you have auto belts and a storage box in your CRX?
We really need more pics of it! Did you do anything with it since?

Auto belts? Maybe they were once I dunno, they are door mounted and fairly annoying tbh.
There prob was a storage box in it once too, I must look sometime to see whats back there, I need to take out the stupid sub box first though. Not much done to it really since, put on a Greddy cat back last month, been working on the Legacy most of the time. Soon crx time though.
