Default What you did to your CRX today

Didn't see a similar thread - and they're handy for catching small updates!

Anyway still haven't got my car back from the bodyshop - so don't have much work to be getting on with. The rocker cover on the car is currently a nasty shade of red, so picked up a spare one and got it back to something a bit more acceptable!

Have to say the paint stripper isn't half as effective as it used to be - I have vivid memories of my eyes feeling like they were melting in the past.

Had to remove quote a bit of casting marks as well before spraying it. Very happy with the results.

Results after first round of paint stripper -

Two more rounds of paint stripper, a power hose, and some sanding -

Used the dremel to remove the flashing and masked it all up -

This paint goes on thick!

Used a hairdryer to kick off the process and left it overnight

All done. Will be a big improvement over whats there.

Looks great. When are you expecting to get your back from the bodyshop?

Over the next few weeks hopefully. Its been in the body shop over two years - had agreed up front that it could be a slow burner. That still suits me - am wrapping up an E36 coupe project and an E30 touring - the touring in particular has been a massive amount of work.

Nice work can't beat a good clean wrinkle cover, I must get on to some other image hosting page. I think Photobucket ruined a lot of forums too

Not done today but I washed mine on Sunday and brought it to the new Cars and Coffee in Dunboyne.
Waste of time washing it as it pi$$ed rain after I got there but some lad papped me and put it on Facebook.

Also thanks again Paul for the wind deflectors, first time out in public and I got asked about them a couple of times.

Looks great - are they power fold mirrors? I read that you need different deflectors for power fold equipped cars?

Yeah they are power fold albeit when they feel like it!
C-Rex organised a group buy for these from somewhere in Asia early in the year and they stop just above the mirrors. I'll get a pic and post it in a couple of minutes.
