Bass tubes
I changed the speakers over the weekend in the siR and I found that it has those bass tube things fitted in the rear (hadn't seen them before). Does anyone else have them and are they worth keeping in the car i.e. what do they do, basically?
Also, they seemed to have what I presume is supposed to be some sort of insulation packed into them. Is that going to lessen the effect they have by much, whatever the effect is?

They resonate and give you a better bass sound. They seem to have been an option with some CRX's.
I'd keep em because they will make a difference, but if you want to sell them I'd say you'd get a few bob for them.

Cheers Mark, yeah they seem to be an option you find mainly on imported cars. I'm not sure why the sound deadening stuff has been put into them, though.
Any luck with that centre console?

Ive some from mine too, the sound deadinging actually makes the sound deeper (well not deeper but it hard to explain, more thump whatever).
Its like drummers put stuff in the bass drum to give it more dead thumping soud.
