Default My EE8 Restoration

Finally started doing a bit on my cr-x, i'll keep this updated as i go along.
This is the car just after rolling off the transporter....

First job is to replace the head gasket and get it running..

Cylinder head just about ready for skimming, brought it to the engineers today...

Also picked up a standard exhaustin decent condition during the week..

And also some other bits and pieces..

Still haven't solved the problem with the roof but i have some ideas, just need to find the right parts [xx(]

Nope, i'm a qualified mechanic, done hundreds of head gaskets so this is just a walk in the park

I picked up the car down around the limerick/cork border, swapped an engine for it. I'm still convinced this is the car jtswift 2000 looked at and walked away cause it's so bad.........but i like a challenge

Ye this is the one Dave had aint it... Definately the same car..

I looked at this car back about 4years ago (in Ballygran Co Limerick) yer man was looking 4500 for it then (was a bit cleaner).. Sold to somewhere local enough still around Charleville ish area.. Then bought by a lad in Kilfinnane (John I think) who was planning on putting it back right butnever really happened.. Then I think Dave got it.. Now You..

Thats as long as I know it for.. Good to see it coming along, definately think you should glass roof it!! Would be mad on a ivt

Yeah i bought it off a lad named dave....he's bang on, he delivered it and everythin.

Glass roof would be too expensive cause apparently i need to change the whole roof....

I was looking at the roof and the plan i've come up with is to fit a larger sunroof. Universal aftermarket sunroofs are designed so that you cut a hole in your roof and install it without any welding. I want to cut a slightly larger hole so that i completely remove the rust. I've located an aftermarket sunroof in an eg, it's a top-sliding sunroof so it'd be ideal. The motor is tiny and sits just in front of the sunroof, the swich is beside the motor and it's a'll kept tidy in a plastic housing. The whole assemble comes out on one piece + the rubber seal, and is designed to be installed in any roof. The only thing i need to do is measure it all up and make sure it'll work.
