Default My Pewter Grey ...

I bought this off of Eibh [Eibh_Sir] last August and drove it for a few months!!!!

Decided to lock it up when I got the company Van so I could save up and begin the Project!!

To be honest if I knew what was going to be involved when i began I'd just have driven it into the ground without a care in the world but I promised Eibh I'd look after it

Over the last 7 months myself and my Mechanical friend carried out a rebuild on the head of the Engine and tbh pretty much removed everything except the bottom end.

I'm not finished with it yet but the plan was to have it back on the road by the end of March '09.

There was 1 UK owner & I'm the 3rd Irish owner [Dunno how many people owned it in Japan]

The car was in an overall good shape Mechanically but I wasn't happy with buying someone elses work so I had to set out to reshape it into my own idea.

I've always wanted to own a CR-X since I was 17 so I'll shut up now and show ye some pics.

Note: More will be added as the work continues.

The car when I bought it.

Only differences from the above pictures are the Stock Steering Wheel, Air filter and Red Mats weren't there when I purchased.

The car is currently in the body shop getting both Wings resprayed.

The rear Spoiler has some worn paint spots on it but no matter as I'll be putting the 16V Carbon one on soon.

So plans for the next few months are;

- Carbon Spoiler [have it already]
- Coilovers [currently has; Jamex front suspension kit
KYB rear suspension kit]
- Uprated Discs, Pads and Calipers
- Fit my Aero style Bonnet Catches
- Get it Dyno'd.

Towards December then I'll stick my hand to fitting a Turbo kit - been doing a bit of research on these on www.hondacrx.co.uk

I've more pictures to add as I go along of the work done to the Engine as we progressed and final pics.

The front Fogs have also be taken out and replaced for other ones.

The car was by no means a walk in the park to work on.

Everything we done to it required "Modification", whether it was the Intake, Rad, Battery relocation and so on.

As you can see from the pics the Engine bay has very little room to play around in. I can truly say it broke our balls trying to make everything fit.

The Engine bay floor was primed and resprayed black to prevent any Tin Worm. I also had the car on the Jig to make sure it was right.

All in all we spent 2 nights a week for 4/5 months ripping and changing.

The Head work was a pain too - I was having nightmares about Valve Stem Oil Seals for a long time after!

Took it for a test spin with Paul (C-Rex as the passo) and the crack off VTEC is very sharp now. It was always evident but now the CTR Cams really tune it's pitch.
