Default Contemplating selling up...

Well, I've been thinking about this on and off for the past 4 months or so or maybe even longer.

My love of the whole car scene isn't what it used to be. I still Love CR-Xs and always will but I'm not sure if my Heart's in it anymore.

Another factor are the costs at the moment.

I'm paying out 80% of my Wages every 2 weeks on Loan, Mortgage, Food, Bills etc. I'm trying to save for Holidays too as my GF has been fairly understanding the past 2 years where I've said I didn't have the money to go away but now I feel I owe her as she's always been spot on with things.

Insurance is calling soon and I just paid another 3 months Tax yesterday (which I had to borrow from her!!)

I have a company Van for work and the ONLY thing that's stopping me from selling is if my job goes I'll have no mode of transport!

If I sold it for say 5k (which I'm not sure if I will in this climate) I'd put it straight to my loan to try and knock 8 months off it.

I'm confused [?]

It's a tough decision to make man. Everyone has their own different situation but if funding a car is getting in the way of quality of life, then i'd know what the answer would be(Cant believe I just said that) especially if you have a mode of transport already! current climate will be very hard to get that price for a cr-x no matter what the condition is hence why I locked mine up before going to Oz, I'd much rather have it sitting idle for a few years than sell it for peanuts bcoz basically thats all you would get for any cr-x these days! Would you not think of parking it up for a year and look at how things pan out next year, it would give you a break from paying insurance, tax, running costs etc but at least the car would still be there if you did miss it that much plus it would score some much needed brownie points with the missus I understand? Once a cr-x owner, always a cr-x owner!

That's my little bit of agony ant advice from Adelaide!!

.....nothing...pah

seriously though, your priorities are right. Dont loose the missus coz of money your spending on the car could go on gf time. SIR's were going for that money 2 years ago. Unfortunately you probably wont get 3500 for it with the market now. Park it up, make use of the company van, and when your not banging the missus you can be polishing the car haha

Sorry, meant to reply to your post - lets just say if I sold the company Van I'd be jobless!!

Yeah, I'll park her up July so for 12 months and assess the situation then.

Brilliant

Ronan pretty much what Jeff said.. Ive seen the whole car scene go to shitee lately too but I couldnt justify selling the CRX or Sedan because of it.. Its an very clean enthusiasts car not a boy racer piece of crap so hold onto it and when you do pull it back out it will be as cool a car as when you parked it up.. You'd regret selling it!!
